(Bijeljina -) Velino Selo ŽRS - Sremska Rača Nova ŽS (- Šid): [D] ŽS operates to Bijeljina; there is no connection to the rest of the railway system of Bosnia-Hercegovina. Passenger service over the whole route from Šid to Bijeljina ceased at the December 2005 timetable change. Note: this crossing was available to local passport holders only.
(Tuzla -) Zvornik Novi ŽRS - Brasina ŽS (- Ruma): [D] This line was built in 1978 and carries ŽS freight traffic to a large works at Zvornik Novi. The route is shown wrongly, or not at all, on many maps, and runs from Rasputnica [= junction] Donja Borina, just south of Brasina on the Ruma - Zvornik Grad line, via a cross-border river bridge to Zvornik Novi. The line between onwards from Zvornik Novi towards Tuzla is of even newer construction and is fully described here.
(Požega -) Ribnica Zlatiborska ŽS - Jablanice ŽRS - Štrpci ŽRS - Rača ŽS (- Podgorica): [E] The line crosses the border twice, with stations within Bosnia-Hercegovina at Jablanice and Štrpci. ŽS operates all trains.

(Sofia -) Kalotina BDŽ - Dimitrovgrad ŽS (- Niš): [ED] BDŽ works generally trains to/from Kalotina, the present limit of electrification on this route.

(Dalj -) Erdut HŽ - Bogojevo ŽS: [D] The bridge over the river Danube was damaged in 1999 and was not repaired until 2006. Freight services via this route restarted in summer 2008.
(Vinkovci -) Tovarnik HŽ - Šid ŽS (- Beograd): [E] HŽ normally works to Šid.

Rabe ZS - Tiszasziget MÁV (- Újszeged): Line closed and lifted after World War 2. The railway bridge over the Tisza River in Szeged was destroyed, so the route lost its function.

(Szeged -) Roszke MÁV - Horgoš ŽS (- Subotica): [D] Workings between Szeged and Subotica are shared by MÁV and ŽS.
(Kiskunhalas -) Kelebia MÁV - Subotica ŽS: [E] ŽS works to Kelebia.
Subotica ZS - Csikéria MÁV (-Bácsalmás): No through traffic after World War 2. Line abandoned.
Ridica ZS - Ólegyen MÁV (- Bácsalmás): No through traffic after World War 2. Line closed and lifted.
Ridica ZS - Gara MÁV (- Baja): No through traffic after World War 2. Line closed and lifted.
Backi Breg ZS - Hercegszántó MÁV (- Baja): Closed after World War 2. Entire line lifted.

(Skopje -) Volkovo MŽ - Hani i Elezit/Đeneral Janković ŽS (- Fushë-Kosovë/Kosovo Polje): [D] Timetabled passenger trains resumed over this route on 20 December 2005, with two train pairs daily between Skopje and Prishtinë/Priština via Fushë-Kosovë/Kosovo Polje, operated by UNMIK (United Nations Interim Administration Mission In Kosovo).
(Skopje -) Tabanovci MŽ - Preševo ŽS (- Niš): [E] Generally ŽS works to Tabanovci, though sometimes MŽ works to Preševo.

(Podgorica -) Bijelo Polje ŽCG - Brodarevo ŽS (- Požega): [E] ŽS operates to Bijelo Polje. Local services tend to terminate at Bijelo Polje from each direction; through services normally change locomotives there. The two intermediate stations between Brodarevo and Bijelo Polje, Sutivan and Vrbnica, are within Montenegro but are served by the ŽS local trains.

(Timişoara -) Jimbolia CFR - Kikinda ŽS: [D] ŽS operates to Jimbolia.
(Timişoara -) Cruceni CFR - Jaša Tomić ŽS (- Sečanj): Line closed. CFR operates passenger trains as far as Cruceni.
(Cărpiniş -) Ionel CFR - Međa ŽS - border - border - Jaša Tomić ŽS (- Sečanj): Line closed. CFR operates passenger trains as far as Ionel.
(Sânnicolau Mare -) Vălcani CFR - Vrbica ŽS: Line closed. CFR operates passenger trains as far as Vălcani.
