Obscure services
Diemen Zuid (Venserpolder aansluiting) — Halte ArenA — Bijlmer (Duivendrecht aansluiting) (4A3) NL06/1
There are separate east-to-south and south-to-east curves — both reversibly signalled; the more westerly of the two has a halt to serve the nearby ArenA stadium, which is used by football specials, in season, for supporters of the visiting team, as advertised locally. Utrecht Overvecht — Bilthoven (Blauwkapel Oost aansluiting) (4A3) NL06/2
This section is quadruple track with two raised tracks and two tracks at ground level. The fact the the ground level tracks (the original alignment) still cross the Lunetten - Hilversum line by flat crossing (Blauwkapel Kruispunt) makes it of interest to record that all eastbound stopping trains from Utrecht CS (Centraal) to Amersfoort, still use the flat crossing.
Utrecht Lunetten (Lunetten sidings) — Utrecht Nederlands Spoorwegmuseum — Bilthoven (Blauwkapel Oost aansluiting) (4A3) NL06/3
This is the freight line which avoids Utrecht on the east side. The Nederlands Spoorwegmuseum (Netherlands Railway Museum) is located at the former Maliebaan station.
In 2006 trains ran hourly between Utrecht Centraal station and the Netherlands Railway Museum on Tuesdays to Sundays (also on Mondays during summer school holidays). Departures from Utrecht Centraal 10:30 to 16:30 (journey time 19 mins) and from the Railway Museum 11:09 to 17:09 (journey time 17 mins). See www.spoorwegmuseum.nl/en/planuwbezoek/route.htm.
Schiedam Centrum (Dhsa (DelfsHaven Schiebrug aansluiting) 171 points) — Rotterdam Noord (Dhsa 409 points) (3B2) NL06/4
The line - to the west of and avoiding Rotterdam Centraal - has no regular passenger trains but is used by diverted IC trains between Den Haag and Utrecht whenever the direct line between Den Haag and Gouda is blocked for engineering work - visit NS web site, then click link "Actuele vertrektijden", then click either "Komende 2 weken" for NS engineering work for the next two weeks or "Download folder" for the current week's public pamphlet.
Den Haag HS (Binckhorst aansluiting) - Voorburg (3B2) NL06/5
