Hurko - Medyka [122] (44A3) PL08/15
Between these points the broad and standard gauge tracks follow separate routes. After 31 March 2004 when internal PKP trains were withdrawn, the standard gauge was only used by a three days a week cross border Kraków – Kiev service using the gauge changing facility at Mostiska 2 in the Ukraine. Following an incident at the gauge changer in October 2006 through services were withdrawn and have never resumed, a change of train is now required at Przemyśl. Staff trains may continue on the standard gauge as there were non-timetabled halts serving transhipment yards en route but no details are known so confirmation would be welcomed. The Broad Gauge is also used by one other pair of international trains to/from Przemyśl.

Services with a < via PL08/21 booked to call at Sumina use a connection at the Rybnik end of the layout, but non-stop trains can avoid the station via through lines on the north side of the goods yard. As non-stop services have also been known to be routed via Sumina station, further information would be welcomed. Some trains in the 2004 & 2005 timetables were confirmed as travelling by the avoider, and these are the 2008 equivalents.

Kędzierzyn Koźle - Kędzierzyn Koźle Azoty [153/160] (37A1) PL08/23
The table 101 route to/from Gliwice dives between what appears to be separate northbound/southbound routes to/from Kędzierzyn Koźle Azoty, but the majority of trains on tables 153 & 160 use the easternmost track to/from Kędzierzyn Koźle platforms 1 or 1a on a 4km reversible line via a staff halt at the PKP depot. The north and south-bound lines are up to 0.5km apart and the limited departures from Kędzierzyn Koźle platform 4 to Rybnik and Racibórz must use the route on the west side of the yard. These are the 2008 timetable equivalents to confirmed 2005 trains.

Jarocin
Jarocin station is split with separate platforms for tables 320/323 and 321. Cross table service patterns have varied in recent years and have changed again for 2008.
Jarocin 320 side – Radlin Wielkopolski – [Września] [321] (37A3) PL08/38
The through Leszno [323] to Gniezno [321] services using a connection at the north end of the station were withdrawn on 8 December 2007, and the departure sheets show the only use in 2008 by:
| {1} | 45515 | Częstochowa – 04:10 Jarocin – Bydgoszcz |
Note:
{1} Morning of 7 August 2008 only.
[Krotoszyn ] – Golina - Jarocin 320 side- [Poznań] [320/321] (37A3) PL08/39
This curve connects the two lines near where table 321 crosses underneath table 320 some way south of Jarocin station.

[Pleszew] – Witaszyce - Jarocin 321 side [320/321] (37A3) PL08/40
All arrivals from and departures towards Września except the service in PL08/38 were shown on the 2008 station departure sheets to use the east side platforms. With the introduction of the pair listed below, this suggested the section south of Jarocin station and this curve would have reopened to passenger services. However the southbound train on 27 January travelled via PL08/38 so it is doubted if PL08/40 saw passenger use before they were withdrawn on 1 February 2008.| 56112 | Grudziądz – 16:21 Jarocin – Wrocław Głowny * [Withdrawn 1 February 2008] | ||

[Krotoszyn] – Golina – Jarocin 321 side – [Września] [321] (37A3) PL08/41
If the services in PL08/40 are confirmed, only the very short section between the junctions of PL08/39, only the very short section between the junctions of PL08/39 and PL08/40 would have no passenger service in 2008. However, if those services use PL08/38, there would be no service from Jarocin station to PL08/39 as in 2007.
Wolsztyn – Konotop : Wolsztyn – Powodowo – (Sulechów) [Ex 332] (36B3) PL08/42

Czerwieńsk [333/355] (36A3) PL08/43
Line 333 crosses underneath line 355 to the east of the two-sided station and through trains to/from Zbaszynek to Zielona Góra reversing at Czerwieńsk use the south side platforms and a significant connection at the east end of the station.

Kostrzyn –Küstrin-Kietz [355/345] (31A1) PL08/45
Seven pairs of IC and overnight services between Poznań Głowny and Berlin are diverted from Rzepin via T355 and a reversal in a freight yard north of Kostrzyn station. These trains use a north to west curve in Kostrzyn on 12,13 January, 23,24 February, 22,23 March, 21,22 June, and between 18 October and 30 November 2008. This is due to bridge reconstruction work near Frankfurt (Oder).
Szczecin Główny eastern approaches [361] (31A2) PL08/46.1
There are two alternative routes from Szczecin Zdroje, the shorter via Szczecin Port Centralny, the longer via Regalica - Dziewoklicz - Wstowo. Basic pathing is indicated by a < at Port Centralny for trains scheduled via the longer route but day to day operation is flexible.
Szczecin Główny western approaches [368/369] PL08/46.2
Of three possible routes there are two main alternatives from Szczecin Gumieńce, the shortest direct but single track, the second via the southern loop via Wstowo - Dziewoklicz - Port Centralny. In the current timetable schedules vary from 6-10 which is insufficient time for the southern loop so all should run direct to/from Szczecin Gumieńce. The third route via PL08/46.3 was taken by a late running service in May 2007.
Szczecin Główny – Szczecin Wzgórze Hetmanskie [366/368] PL08/46.3
Posters seen at Kostrzyn in October 2005 showed a pair of local trains in each Monday to Friday peak hours extended to Szczecin Wzgórze Hetmanskie, presumably as staff trains serving the EMU depot. No details are known for 2008.
Szczecin Załom – Szczecin Zdunowo (SDA box) [360/370] (31A2) PL08/47
This north-to-east curve avoids Szczecin Dąbie. No booked service in 2008.
Poznań Franowo
Poznań Franowo is a large marshalling yard and depot on the south freight ring around Poznań and extensive engineering works in the Poznań area since 28 March 2007 have seen passenger trains diverted this way. Normal practice seems to be for eastbound services heading for T300 to use a route on the south side of Franowo yard from p.odg Pokrzywno, with westbound and those diverted from T430 running on the north side of the yard on the previous passenger service route through Franowo platforms. The 2008 timetable book was out of date for T300/430 when printed and updates can be found on www.pr.pkp.pl with new pdf’s posted on line.
[Poznań Glowny] – Poznań Starołęka– Poznań Franowo – Poznań Swarzędz [300/398/300] (37A3) PL08/48.1
Fourteen westbound and twelve eastbound services were booked via this diversion until 10 February 2008.
In addition when scheduled services ceased via this route a few years ago, staff trains continued on this and via PL08/48.3. They are displayed on the electronic departure or video screens at Poznań Gł as "sluzbowy" (staff trains). The times are from 2002.

Iława [400/405/500] (33A2 not shown correctly) PL08/50
There are two routes between Iława station and Działdowo, the Malbork – Warszawa main line diving under the Toruń – Olsztyn line from the north side and a curve from the yard and south side platform. Trains to and from Dzialdowo cannot reach south side platform 3 from the north side curve and the 2003 departure sheets showed use of Platform 3 by three scheduled trains to/from the south on table 400. By mid 2007 there are no similarly timed services so 2008 departure sheet information would be welcomed.
It should be noted that is possible to use the south side curve to/from all platforms so operationally there may be other services, but the north side route is the normal route.
Olsztyn - Iława - Malbork services use connections at the Olsztyn end of the station to cross to the north side platforms.
Toruń Główny – Suchatówka (Nieszawka) [405] (32B1) PL08/51
There are two routes here: the more northerly climbs over the Bydgoszcz line, the alternative passes through Toruń Kluczyki station. Trains timed at Toruń Kluczyki must use the southerly route, but in practice other trains use either route.

Tczew - Rokitki Tczewskie [426] (32B2) PL08/53
There are alternative 2km long routes on table 426 approaching Tczew, at ground level or a lengthy embankment over the goods yard access lines. Arrival routes cannot be confirmed as all platforms can be reached from the ground level line, but departures from Platforms 1/2 must use the ground level route.
Tczew (32B2) PL08/54
Daily staff shuttles to Zajaczkowo Tczewskie (hump yard shunting station) to the north of the station resumed in 2003 after being withdrawn and replaced by buses in early 2002. Local travellers also use these services which may arrive/depart from a bay beyond Platform 1. These are 2003 timings.

Wierzchuchin [431/440] (32A2) PL08/55
When two tables were combined, through services were introduced between Chojnice and Bydgoszcz using a slip diamond where the two lines cross on the level approximately 0.5km north of Wierzchuchin station. The Lipowa Tucholska to Grudziądz service using this diamond in a different direction to change between tables has been withdrawn in 2008.
Gdynia Stocznia [450/451 & 452] (32B3) PL08/56
The SKM local and main lines take separate routes with Gdynia Stocznia station on an elevated section flying over freight lines leading into the docks. Those avoiding this elevated section are shown with a < on table 452.
Gdynia Glówny – Rumia [450/451] (32B3) PL08/57
Some trains from Hel on table 450 in previous years have not crossed to the main lines at Rumia, but run via a separate line shown on Quail on the East side of Gdynia Chylonia EMU depot and run on the east side of the SKM local lines. Nearing Gdynia they used a connection down to join lines from the PKP locomotive depot, carriage sidings and docks and a dive-under to arrive at platforms on the west side of Gdynia Glówny. Part or all of this route may also apply to departing trains, but which if any are scheduled this way in 2008 is not known.
Suwalki [537] (34A2) PL08/58
Timings of the southbound Sestokai – Suwalki service again show it as a through service to Warsawa. When a through train previously, the train engine continued with the stock into a 0.5km headshunt and reversed the coaches onto others already awaiting departure after a brief stop at Suwalki to drop passengers. Timings are arrive 15.16, depart 15.28.
Trains eastbound towards Czeremcha use a southerly flyover route to p odg. Ujzanow, westbound services the north side connection. Note that the double track electrified line shown on the Quail atlas, from Białki Siedleckie to Stok Lacki does not exist.
Wrzosów (Stojadła) – Pilawa (via Kędzierak) [550/613] (38B3) PL08/60
Part of a ring freight route round the east side of Warszawa, this north-to-south line provides a link between the Lublin and Terespol lines, and is used as an alternative to the single track line via Otwock due to capacity limitations. Trains are marked with a < on table 550 at Otwock.
Dęblin – Stawy [553] (38B2 not shown correctly) PL08/61
There are two passenger routes from Stawy to/from the Łuków line that arrive at either the north or south ends of Dęblin station with only the route to/from the north end shown in the Ball and Quail maps. Passenger trains from Łuków normally travel via the unmapped line in a clockwise direction to approach Dęblin station from the south.
Zwierzyniec [554/556] (39A1 not shown) PL08/62
The broad gauge Steel & Sulphur Railway can be crossed on the flat in two places approximately 1km apart to the west of Zwierzyniec station en route to and from Belzec on Table 554. The westernmost is after the unadvertised halt of Zwierzyniec Towawory but as this yard was mainly out of use by mid 2004, it is suspected that most trains use the crossing near Zwierzyniec station as did a southbound service on 17 July 2004.
Dabrowice Skierniewickie (Skierniewickie Park) – Mokra (Skieniewka) [601/603] (38A3) PL08/63
This north west-to-south west chord avoids Skierniewice station.

Bedon - Łódź Olechow - Łódź Chojny - Łódź Kaliska [601] (37B3-38A3) PL08/64
One of two routes between Łódź Chojny and Bedon. Those via Łódź Olechow can be identified by a timing at Łódź Kaliska and < at Łódź Widzew. Apart from the train listed, the other seven trains booked via this route all run between 23:30 and 04:00.

Bedon - Łódź Widzew - Łódź Chojny - Łódź Kaliska [601] (37B3-38A3) PL08/65
Services using this route between Łódź Chojny and Bedon can be identified by a timing at both Łódź Widzew and Łódź Kaliska.
Łódź Fabryczna – Łódź Olechow - Łódź Chojny - Łódź Kaliska [601] (37B3-38A3) PL08/66
Staff trains are believed to run between the two main Łódź stations via a non-passenger curve avoiding Bedon. The train is thought to consist of one first class coach and an electric loco, and is reported to run daily. However the morning train did not appear for a visitor in May 2003. These are the 2003 timings.

Gałkówek – Zakowice Pld – Koluszki [601] (38A2) PL08/67
Eastbound expresses from Łódź to Koluszki or PL08/6 run via Zakowice (with a time or <) whereas most local trains have a timing at Zakowice Pld and use this completely different route to arrive at the east side of Koluszki station. The local trains that do not take this route but call at Zakowice on the main line are indicated in the timetable by a *.
Tłuszcz – Grzebowilk (38B3) PL08/68
This is the northward extension of line PL08/59, and there are two different routings for unadvertised staff trains. One pair run direct from Tłuszcz, the other to Radzymin on table 609 to reverse and then southbound via the Tłuszcz avoiding line. The morning times were confirmed for the 2002 working timetable, the evening pair were not. Note that when an enthusiast travelled, the EMU doors were not opened on arriving back at Tłuszcz station and the unit continued to the nearby depot.
It is not known if the trains run daily.
Piława - Mszczonów - Puszcza Mariańska [604] (38A3) PL08/69
Staff trains ran in 2002 over a section of table 604 that lost passenger services on 9 June 2001. Updated information would be welcomed. Also see PL08/5 for details of one pair of international trains running via Piława - Mszczonów.
Days of operation are not known.
