Hurko - Medyka [122] (44A3) PL09/15
Between these points the broad and standard gauge tracks follow separate routes. The internal PKP service was withdrawn on 31 March 2004 and since then a limited service via the Broad gauge line has continued at all times and the standard gauge tracks saw no scheduled passenger use following the three days a week Kraków – Kiev service was re-routed to gauge change at Przemyśl following an incident at the Mostiska 2 gauge changer in the Ukraine in October 2006. However it is believed that the standard gauge line and the Ukrainian gauge changer may resume use when the Kiev service goes daily from 1 June 2009. Internal PKP Staff trains may also continue on the standard gauge as there were non-timetabled halts serving transhipment yards en route so confirmation after 1 June would be welcomed.

Westbound departures from Katowice Gł platforms 1-4 can run via a separate route via a flyover but pointwork also allows access to the normal route.
Trains from platform 1 at Katowice Gł seem from observations to always use the flyover route.
Nędza Wieś – Kuźnia Raciborska (Turze) [153/160] (37A1) PL09/20
An east-to-north chord avoiding Nędza station for trains shown on tables 153 and 160 between Rybnik and Kędzierzyn Koźle with a < at Nędza.
Rybnik – Sumina [153] (40A1) PL09/21
Trains with a < at intermediate stations run direct; those with intermediate timings use the longer route via Rybnik Towarowy.
Rybnik – Sumina – Nędza Wieś [153] (40A1) PL09/22
Services with a < via PL09/21 booked to call at Sumina use a connection at the Rybnik end of the layout, but non-stop trains can avoid the station via through lines on the north side of the goods yard. Kędzierzyn Koźle - Kędzierzyn Koźle Azoty [153/160] (37A1) PL09/23
The table 101 route to/from Gliwice dives between what appears to be separate northbound/southbound routes to/from Kędzierzyn Koźle Azoty, but the majority of trains on tables 153 & 160 use the easternmost track to/from Kędzierzyn Koźle platforms 1 or 1a on a 4km reversible line via a staff halt at the PKP depot. The north and south-bound lines are up to 0.5km apart and the limited departures from Kędzierzyn Koźle platform 4 to Rybnik and Racibórz must use the route on the west side of the yard. These are the 2008 timetable equivalents to confirmed 2005 trains.

Zduńska Wola Karsznice – Szadek (Inowrocław) [315] (37B2) PL09/37

Kępno (low level) – (p.odg Hanulin) - Domanin [320] (37A2) PL09/39
Kępno is a split Low Level/High level station and the timetable insert map is totally incorrect as the passenger line from Herby Nowe runs into Kępno Low level platforms from the East. Trains to or from the Ostrów direction and timetabled with 9 minutes for the Domanin - Kępno section should travel via this 1.8km north-to-east outside curve to and from the low level platforms in addition to the through Szczecin via Wieluń Dabrowa services that must use this route. In recent years use by the Ostrów local service has reduced to the last in and first out of the day [confirmed from platform departure sheets in 2007]

Jarocin
Jarocin station is split with separate platforms for tables 320/323 and 321. Cross table service patterns have varied in recent years
Jarocin 320 side – Radlin Wielkopolski – [Września] [321] (37A3) PL09/40
The through Leszno [323] to Gniezno [321] services using a connection at the north end of the station were withdrawn on 8 December 2007. The following services could use this or PL09/42:
| E | 65503 | Jelenia Góra – 02:15 Jarocin – Gdynia * | |
| E | 56502 | Gdynia – 00:53 Milosław – Jelenia Góra * |

[Pleszew] – Witaszyce - Jarocin 321 side [320/321] (37A3) PL09/42
This pair could use this alternative route rather than PL09/40 so information would be welcomed.

| E | 56502 | Gdynia – 01:39 Milosław – Jelenia Góra * |
[Krotoszyn] – Golina – Jarocin 321 side – [Września] [321] (37A3) PL09/43
There have been no through services over the complete length of T321 for a few years so unless PL09/40 equivalent trains took that route there had been no passenger service south from the east side of Jarocin station until the junction with PL09/41. There is a scheduled service in 2009.
| 76820 | 06:41Jarocin – Wrocław Głowny |
Wolsztyn – Konotop : Wolsztyn – Powodowo – (Sulechów) [Ex 332] (36B3) PL09/44
Steam-hauled freights from Wolsztyn no longer carry pre-arranged passengers.
Czerwieńsk [333/355] (36A3) PL09/45
Line 333 crosses underneath line 355 to the east of the two-sided station and through trains to/from Zbaszynek to Zielona Góra reversing at Czerwieńsk use the south side platforms and a significant connection at the east end of the station.
Rzepin avoiding line [300/355] (36A3) PL09/46
| E | 48501 | Katowice – 02:15 Zielona Góra – Świnoujście | |
| E | 84500 | Świnoujście – 23:55 Kostrzyn – Bielsko Biala |
A timetable amendment sheet diverted these services to call at Rzepin but neither the on-line PDF nor timetable enquiry screen reflect this change.
Kostrzyn –Küstrin-Kietz [355/345] (31A1) PL09/47
Part of the diversionary route for overnight services between Poznań Głowny and Berlin when diverted from Rzepin via T355 and a reversal in a freight yard north of Kostrzyn station. These use a north to west curve in Kostrzyn and this was used over the Easter weekend in 2009 due to bridge reconstruction work near Frankfurt (Oder).
Szczecin Główny eastern approaches [361] (31A2) PL09/48.1
There are alternative routes from Szczecin Zdroje, the shorter via Szczecin Port Centralny, the longer via Regalica - Dziewoklicz - Wstowo. Basic pathing is indicated by a < at Port Centralny for trains scheduled via the longer route but operation is flexible.
Szczecin Główny western approaches [368/369] PL09/48.2
There are three possible routes from Szczecin Gumieńce, the shortest direct but single track, the second via the southern loop via Wstowo - Dziewoklicz - Port Centralny or PL09/48.3. In the current timetable schedules vary from 5 -10 which is insufficient time for the southern loop so all should run direct to/from Szczecin Gumieńce. The third route connecting into PL09/48.3 is the normal diversionary route and was taken by a late running service in May 2007.
Szczecin Główny – Szczecin Wzgórze Hetmanskie [366/368] PL09/48.3
Posters seen at Kostrzyn in October 2005 showed a pair of local trains in each Monday to Friday peak hours extended to Szczecin Wzgórze Hetmanskie, presumably as staff trains to serve the EMU depot. No details are known for 2009.
Szczecin Załom – Szczecin Zdunowo (SDA box) [360/370] (31A2) PL09/49
This north-to-east curve avoids Szczecin Dąbie.
| E | 38507 | Kraków Glówny – 06:05 Stargard Szczeciński – Świnoujście | |

Poznań Franowo
Poznań Franowo is a large marshalling yard and depot on the south freight ring around Poznań. There were numerous diversions this way since March 2007 as a result of extensive engineering works on the main line but now these have completed the latest PDF shows only limited use. In 2008 all eastbound services on T300 and T430 used a route from p.odg Pokrzywno on the extreme south side of Franowo yard, splitting past the locomotive depot so that those to/from T430 used a flyover towards p.odj Zieliniec and those on T300 used a line outside this flyover [not shown on the Ball or Quail maps] towards Swarzędz. There is an alternative route on lines on the north side of Franowo Yard via the platforms used by the staff trains that were withdrawn and replaced by buses from around December 2006. Which route the 2009 services take is not known. All westbound services travel on the north side of the yard.

Poznań Swarzędz – p.odg Zieliniec – north freight ring - Kiekrz [300/link to 360] (37A3) PL09/51
The pair of Warsawa – Szczecin IC’s shown in the printed timetable using this route were re-routed to call at Poznan Glowny early in 2009.
Iława [400/405/500] (33A2 not shown correctly) PL09/52
There are two routes between Iława station and Działdowo, the Malbork – Warszawa main line diving under the Toruń – Olsztyn line from the north side and a curve from the yard and south side platform. Trains to and from Dzialdowo cannot reach south side platform 3 from the north side curve and the 2003 departure sheets showed use of Platform 3 by three scheduled trains to/from the south on table 400. By mid 2007 there are no similarly timed services so 2008 departure sheet information would be welcomed.
It should be noted that is possible to use the south side curve to/from all platforms so operationally there may be other services, but the north side route is the normal route.
Olsztyn - Iława - Malbork services use connections at the Olsztyn end of the station to cross to the north side platforms.
Toruń Główny – Suchatówka (Nieszawka) [405] (32B1) PL09/53
There are two routes here: the more northerly climbs over the Bydgoszcz line, the alternative passes through Toruń Kluczyki station. Trains timed at Toruń Kluczyki must use the southerly route, but in practice other trains use either route.
[Inowroclaw] – Nowa Wies Wielka – Bydgoszcz Wschod – Bydgoszcz Głowny [Ex 416/430] (32A1) PL09/54
| E | 83504 | Słupsk – 00:03 Bydgoszcz Głowny – Kraków/Katowice | |
| E | 38505 | Kraków/Katowice – 00:54 Inowroclaw – Słupsk |
Tczew - Rokitki Tczewskie [426] (32B2) PL09/55
There are alternative 2km routes approaching Tczew at ground level or a lengthy embankment over the goods yard access lines. Arrival routes cannot be confirmed as all platforms can be reached from the ground level line, but apart from an assumption that the through trains to and from Gdynia would use the high level lines to avoid conflicting movements, the ground level route must be used by departures from Platforms 1 & 2.
Tczew (32B2) PL09/56
Daily staff shuttles to Zajaczkowo Tczewskie (hump yard shunting station) to the north of the station resumed in 2003 after being withdrawn and replaced by buses in early 2002. Local travellers also use these services which may arrive/depart from a bay beyond Platform 1. These are 2003 timings.

Wierzchuchin [431/440] (32A2) PL09/57
When two tables were combined, through services were introduced between Chojnice and Bydgoszcz using a slip diamond where the two lines cross on the level approximately 0.5km north of Wierzchuchin station. There are additional “non-standard” services [including a reversal] using this diamond in different directions.
Gdynia Stocznia [450/451 & 452] (32B3) PL09/58
The SKM local and main lines take separate routes with Gdynia Stocznia station on an elevated section flying over freight lines leading into the docks. Those avoiding this elevated section are shown with a < on table 452.
Gdynia Glówny – Rumia [450/451] (32B3) PL09/59
Some trains from Hel on table 450 in previous years have not crossed to the main lines at Rumia, but run via a separate line shown on Quail on the East side of Gdynia Chylonia EMU depot and run on the east side of the SKM local lines. Nearing Gdynia they used a connection down to join lines from the PKP locomotive depot, carriage sidings and docks and a dive-under to arrive at platforms on the west side of Gdynia Glówny. Part or all of this route may also apply to departing trains, but which if any are scheduled this way in 2008 is not known.
Suwalki [537] (34A2) PL09/60
The timetable footnote of the southbound Sestokai – Suwalki service again shows it as a through service to Warsawa. When a through train previously, the train engine continued with the stock into a 0.5km headshunt and reversed the coaches onto others already awaiting departure after a brief stop at Suwalki to drop passengers. Timings are arrive 15.14, depart 15.25.
Siedlce [541] (39B3) PL09/61
Trains eastbound towards Czeremcha use a southerly flyover route to p odg. Ujzanow, westbound services the north side connection. Note that the double track electrified line shown on the Quail atlas, from Białki Siedleckie to Stok Lacki does not exist.
Wrzosów (Stojadła) – Pilawa (via Kędzierak) [550/613] (38B3) PL09/62
Part of a ring freight route round the east side of Warszawa, this north-to-south line provides a link between the Lublin and Terespol lines, and is used as an alternative to the single track line via Otwock due to capacity limitations. Trains are marked with a < on table 550 at Otwock.
Dęblin – Stawy [553] (38B2 not shown correctly) PL09/63
There are two passenger routes from Stawy to/from the Łuków line that arrive at either the north or south ends of Dęblin station with only the route to/from the north end shown in the Ball and Quail maps. Passenger trains from Łuków normally travel via the unmapped line in a clockwise direction to approach Dęblin station from the south.
Zwierzyniec [554/556] (39A1 not shown) PL09/64
The broad gauge Steel & Sulphur Railway can be crossed on the flat in two places approximately 1km apart to the west of Zwierzyniec station en route to and from Belzec on Table 554. The westernmost is after the unadvertised halt of Zwierzyniec Towawory but as this yard was mainly out of use by mid 2004, it is suspected that most trains use the crossing near Zwierzyniec station as did a southbound service on 17 July 2004.
Dabrowice Skierniewickie (Skierniewickie Park) – Mokra (Skieniewka) [601/603] (38A3) PL09/65
This north west-to-south west chord avoids Skierniewice station.

Łódź Fabryczna – Łódź Olechow - Łódź Chojny - Łódź Kaliska [601] (37B3-38A3) PL09/68
Staff trains are believed to run between the two main Łódź stations via a non-passenger curve avoiding Bedon and is reported to run daily. However the morning train did not appear for a visitor in May 2003. These are the 2003 timings.

Gałkówek – Zakowice Pld – Koluszki [601] (38A2) PL09/69
Eastbound expresses from Łódź to Koluszki or PL09/5 run via Zakowice (with a time or <) whereas most local trains have a timing at Zakowice Pld and use this completely different route to arrive at the east side of Koluszki station. The local trains that do not take this route but call at Zakowice on the main line are indicated in the timetable by a * but none are so listed in 2009.
Tłuszcz – Grzebowilk (38B3) PL09/70
This is the northward extension of line PL09/62, and there are two different routings for unadvertised staff trains. One pair run direct from Tłuszcz, the other to Radzymin on table 609 to reverse and then southbound via the Tłuszcz avoiding line. The morning times were confirmed for the 2002 working timetable, the evening pair were not. Note that when an enthusiast travelled, the EMU doors were not opened on arriving back at Tłuszcz station and the unit continued to the nearby depot.
It is not known if the trains run daily.
Piława - Mszczonów - Puszcza Mariańska [604] (38A3) PL09/71
Staff trains ran in 2002 over a section of table 604 that lost passenger services on 9 June 2001. Updated information would be welcomed. Also see PL09/4 for details of one pair of international trains running via Piława - Mszczonów.
Days of operation are not known.

Warszawa Wschodnia - Warszawa Rozrzadowa - Warszawa Wawer [614] (41A1) PL09/74
Alternative route to and from Otwock by trains with < against Warszawa Olszynka Grochowska but none are listed in 2008 although in reviousyears trains in either direction have been known to be diverted this way for operational reasons.
