Day 1 (Sunday 02/07/2017): Helsinki to Hyvinkää via the freight-only branches to Sköldvik, Porvoo, Heinola and Loviisa satama (satama = harbour), and to Lahti Salpausselkä which sees event specials only, with preserved class Dm7 DMU 4163/4207 and, later, preserved class Hr1 steam loco 1009.
Day 2 (Monday 03/07/2017): Hyvinkää to Turku via the non-passenger line from Hyvinkää to Karjaa, the branch to Hanko and the freight-only continuation to the harbour, and the freight-only to Turku Naantali, all with class Dv12 diesel loco 2549; also the short passenger branch to the ferry terminal at Turku satama.
Day 3 (Tuesday 04/07/2017): Turku to Tampere via the freight-only branches to Viheriäinen, Hangonsaari and Valkeakoski, with class Dr12 diesel loco 2216; plus the 750 mm preserved line between Humppila and Jokioinen with class Move diesel loco 21.
Day 5 (Thursday 06/07/2017): Tampere to Pieksämäki via the Tampere avoiding curve and the freight-only branch from Vilppula to Mäntää, with class Dr12 diesel loco 2216 to Vilppula, then class Dv15/16 diesel locos 1991 and 2038 to Happamäki, then class Dr13 diesel loco 2343.
Day 6 (Friday 07/07/2017): Pieksämäki to Joensuu via the freight-only branch from Suonenjoki to Yläkoski and the freight line between Siilinjärvi and Viinijärvi (plus the branch off this from Sysmäjärvi to Vuounos), with class Dr13 diesel loco 2343; finally class Dr16 diesel loco 2810 shunted us into Joensuu depot.
Day 7 (08/07/2017): Joensuu to Kouvola via the freight-only line to Ilomantsi (the most easterly railway line in the European Union) with class Dv12 diesel loco 2607, to Pieksämäki with class Dr13 diesel loco 2343, then with class Hr1 steam loco 1009 via the freight-only branch from Mäntyharju/Mynttilä to Ristiina. Unfortunately 1009 failed with a hot axle box at Hillosensalmi so we were bussed, over 3 hours late, to Kouvola!
