The Porthmadog, Beddgelert and South Snowdon Railway attempted to build a railway between its so-named places in the 1900s and had failed by 1906. A few sections were built, including a pair of bridge abutments, this complete bridge over the A498 just south of Beddgelert, and a short length of embankment in between.
