Remains of the criss-cross of lines in the Heaton Mersey / Cheadle Heath area. I'm standing on the remains of the viaduct of the Heaton Mersey - Cheadle Heath Midland route (Manchester - St Pancras); the abutments are the remains of the Mersey viaduct of the Cheshire Lines Committee route via Stockport Tiviot Dale. Just visible is the embankment of the only line still open here, the Northenden - Hazel Grove freight route.
