Veteran SNCB units 660 and 655 depart Aachen Hbf on train R5038, the 17:04 cross-border service to Welkenraedt. Two platforms at Aachen Hbf can be switched from the German 15 kV 16.7 Hz to the Belgian 3 kV dc to allow such workings to take place with single-voltage electric trains.
