This is the southernmost span of Sinderland Road overbridge, the post-1893 alignment of the main Glazebrook Jn - Skelton Jn line, looking westwards. Immediately to the right, at the slightly lower level, is the pre-1893 alignment, cut by the construction of the Manchester Ship Canal. The new alignment was known as "Deviation No.4" and was closed to all traffic in 1982, being lifted a year later.
