Hale station and level crossing. This is only 3/4 mile south of Altrincham and is still in Trafford borough/Greater Manchester. You wouldn't think it to look at the tatty station but this is in the wealthiest area of Greater Manchester and arguably the wealthiest area outside Greater London. The station was opened on the line's opening day 12/05/1862 by the Cheshire Midland Railway, which was absorbed by the Cheshire Lines Committee on 15/08/1867. The old crossing box became unused when Deansgate Junction box took over control of the crossing by CCTV in 1991/1992.
