This is Hesketh Meadow, a local green space, looking southwards. This is former railway land, with the two Great Central Railway routes from St Helens Central and from Wigan Central converging here; Lowton St Mary's station was beyond the trees. The HS2 planned route passes through here, dropping down into a cutting to go under A572 Newton Road (Lowton to Leigh).
