This is the junction of Hessel Street and Eccles New Road in Weaste. The frontage of the building was the Salford Corporation tram and bus depot at Weaste; most of the depot building was demolished some years ago for rebuilding as residential accomodation, but the frontage and clock tower was retained. To the right, in Hessel Street, remains of original Salford Corporation tram tracks are visible. In the foreground, the tracks and wiring of the Eccles route of the Manchester Metrolink system can be seen.
