RENFE class 112 train with power cars 059 and 060 in platform 2 at León, ready to work AVE train 4178, the 17:35 departure to Madrid-Chamartín. Class 112 are 1435 mm gauge only, 25 kV 50 Hz only. Here at León, there are four terminal platforms: platforms 4 (to the left) and 2 are laid with standard gauge track, for high speed trains towards Madrid, while platforms 1 and 3 to the right are laid with broad gauge track for other services. Out of sight to the right and at a lower level, through platforms 9 and 11 are generally used by broad gauge services towards Oviedo.
