RENFE standard gauge class 112 AVE EMU 112 set 08 at Murcia del Carmen ready to work train AVE5843, the 13:55 departure to Madrid-Chamartín. This train called at Orihuela and Elche AV before taking the Monforte del Cid west curve including the long curve on to the line from Alacant line. It then ran non-stop through Albacete to join the València high speed line at Motilla del Palancar, then the Sevilla high speed line at Torrejon de Velasco. It then took the new, separate, high speed line alignment to the west side of Madrid Puerte de Atocha where it took the Estación Pasante Bypass line towards Madrid-Chamartín.
