The old terminus building at Halkida still stands but trains now terminate at a platform behind the camera. Though this route from Athína via the junction at Inoi is electrified, it is not clear that electric trains have ever run: the electrification through the central Athína route has not been completed. Just beyond the buffer stop is the narrow waterway between the mainland and the island of Evia.
