In the foreground is the track bed of the disused line between Figueira da Foz and Pampilhosa; this 50 km line closed suddenly in 2009 and was lifted from 2013. In the background is the Ponte Edgar Cardoso, the first cable-stayed bridge in Portugal, built in 1982.
