CP (Comboios de Portugal) diesel locomotive 1432 has just arrived at Porto São Bento on train IR876 from Pocinho. 67 of these English Electric-equipped locomotives were built: the first 10 at Vulcan Foundry near Warrington, UK, the remainder in Portugal. Working many of the Douro Valley line trains, these are probably the only English Electric-engined diesel locomotives running in regular public passenger service in Europe.
