RENFE AVE 100 set 23 has arrived at Perpignan with train AVE 9725, the 13:25 departure from Madrid Puerta de Atocha. It will continue to Marseille St Charles. Class 100 are standard gauge only, 25 kV 50 Hz and 3000/1500 V dc, and despite being the oldest high speed trains running in Spain, still have the best ride quality; they have inherited that from their cousins the French TGVs. The switch from 25 kV to 1500 V occurred at the end of the high speed line a few km south west of Perpignan.
