A two day trip to Scotland, primarily to travel on train 1W22 from Edinburgh to Stirling - which should be a Class 91 electric loco working from London. That did not work as will be seen. For Friday 03/01/2020 I had advance tickets booked on the 10:34 Trans Pennine Express service from Manchester Piccadilly to Newcastle, which should have been a class 802 service but was cancelled "due to no driver". Fortunately I had left plenty of time so caught the next available interesting working (with class 68 haulage as far as York) then a 185 DMU to Newcastle. 91122 worked my booked train from Newcastle to Edinburgh. Before taking 1W22 I caught one of the "Fife Circle" class 68-hauled workings. Hotel in Stirling.
Next day 04/01/2020 was planned around covering the newly electrified routes to Alloa, Dunblane and Edinburgh - Glasgow via Shotts. Home from Glasgow was a 350 unit, not worth photographing.....
